FNF Cardiff : Who Are We?

Families Need Fathers Both Parents Matter Cymru is a registered UK charity based in Wales which provides information and support to parents, including unmarried parents, of either sex. FNFBPM Cymru is chiefly concerned with the problems of maintaining a child's relationship with both parents during and after family breakdown.

FNF BPM Cardiff:

The Cardiff branch was founded as FNF Cardiff  in 2001 to support the people of Wales. It was the first FNF branch in Wales, but is now joined by branches in Swansea, Wrexham, Blackwood and soon there will be a branch in Aberystwyth.  See their website

The Cardiff branch has held Litigant in Person training days and Litigant in Person Support training days, as well as hosting training for FNF's National Helpline. N.B. We are running a training day for Litigant in Person and the Courts on February 12th. Limited amount of places, first come, first served. No cost to people resident in Cardiff. Contact Paul Apreda 07947 135 864 to book a place.

The branch linked up with Carwyn Jones  ( now First Minister of Wales )  who acted as our host for an event we put on in the Senedd in 2009

Cardiff is now one of the most forward looking councils on dads' issues in Britain. The Council have supported an initiative Family Connections where FNFBPM Cymru work with the absent parent when children express a desire to see that parent to a dedicated Children's support worker linked to Womens Aid. FNFBPM Cymru provide a sessional worker to work with the absent parent to find ways in which they can see their children.

The Council has also supported a Dads Club initiative and again volunteers from the Cardiff branch were actively involved in the project.

Our volunteers have helped with the FAST Families and Schools Together project  at Pentrebane Primary School which is a Save the Children Project aimed at families with young children.
